Small World, Binnenoranjestraat 14, Amsterdam

Small World is a tiny corner cafe-deli, located in the north of the Jordaan, not far from the Noordermarkt. There only a few places to sit inside (on nice days there are also a few tables and benches outside), but the coffee and food they serve here are definitely worth giving up a bit of your personal space. As you enter the place, your eyes keep bouncing between the collection of muffins, cakes, sandwiches, quiches, tortillas and salads and the smiling face of the Australian guy at the counter. The food is simply lovely. The muffins here are definitely the best ones I have ever had in Amsterdam. The coffee is excellent, and comes in all varieties. They also serve fresh juices and soft drinks. All can be bought to take-out, and can be delivered by fax-order.
