Flour Bakery and Cafe, 1597 Washington St, Boston This is perhaps the best cafe to visit in the South End if you love hot chocolate! Situated at the corner of Washington St and Rutland St, it cannot be missed. It is quaint and hip all rolled into one. Mornings are the busiest and you have to squeeze through the line at the counter. But the delectable selection of cookies, cupcakes, sandwiches, salads and soups makes it worth your while. It is a meeting point for singles and couples alike who meet at the large table reading newspapers or just catching up. The small space however, can be restrictive if you have a baby stroller so park it and your pets outside.If you happen to stop by for lunch, try their avocado, chicken sandwich and off course the hot chocolate. The lentil soup is also on my favourites list. They also have variety of take-home dinners, which are delightful but a tad bit pricey.
