Coffee Crutch Corp, 1023 SW Yamhill St., Portland
Coffee Crutch, situated in the heart of downtown Portland, is a friendly, laid-back oasis in the heart of the city, more like your own private living room than a café.
The tree-lined street and patterned brick sidewalk outside the front door of this converted residence adds to the small-town atmosphere that typifies Portland. Just across the street from Portland's Central Library, Ryan Neumann, owner/barista has created an warm and homey atmosphere for dedicated coffee and tea drinkers. Big, comfortable black-leather chairs, tasteful wall art by local artists, and bookshelves full of paperbacks and chess sets combine to make a coffee break at Coffee Crutch Corp – "Serving Portland Since 2006" - seem more like a visit to an old friend's house than a café in the middle of down-town Portland.
Coffee Crutch features Nossa Familia brand coffee from Brazil,
imported from a family ranch by the rancher's son and roasted in the son's shop
right here in Portland.
Coffee Crutch Corp offers a
full range of coffee and tea-based drinks, with a wide range of extra flavors
available too, or even soy milk if that's your preference. For customers with
more "exotic" coffee tastes there are some great house specialties:
Love Monkey (banana and chocolate), Dublin
(Irish Creme and Amaretto), Mint Kiss (Peppermint and Chocolate) and many more.
If you're a tea lover, don't despair: Coffee Crutch Corp. offers a wide variety of organic Foxfire teas from a local distributor.
Be sure and try one of the fresh pastries, muffins or croissants, or drop in around lunch time and enjoy a fresh panini, or a bowl of soup.
Relaxed and friendly, Coffee Crutch Corp is one of my favorite hideouts in central Portland; and the coffee is great too.
