La Duni Latin Kitchen & Baking Studio, 4264 Oak Lawn, Dallas
Ever wonder where all the attractive men in Dallas are?
Apparently they're all working at La Duni Latin Café. With a menu offering 22 different espresso drinks, a melt in your mouth Cuatro Leche Cake, and Mojitos (Cuba), voted best cocktail in 2001 by D Magazine, the cute Latino waiters aren't the only reason to call up the posse and drag your girlfriends to la Duni for a bebida. The extensive espresso menu includes Viennese Truffle Iced Chocolate Milk, Café con Leche served in bowl shaped glasses, and Café de Chinita, an espresso shot served in a tall glass with hot milk poured tableside.
On a warm day enjoy one of their cold drink selections such as Limonada Suiza, made with hand crushed lemons and limes, cane sugar, soda and crushed ice. The restaurant has a dimly lit atmosphere with red roses casting shadows along the mirror-lined walls. La Duni's romantic atmosphere is a perfect place for an intimate, date, that is if you can manage to avoid gawking when your waiter takes your drink order. La Duni was also voted best brunch by the Observer in 2003 offering Breakfast Tacos, Chile Rellenos, and Huevos Rancheros. The best-unsung treasure however, is the breadbasket, which spills over with warm Pop-overs lathered in Citrus Curds.
