Elvin’s Bakery, 1210 Dillingham Suite #23, Honolulu

My first impression upon discovering this quaint pastry shop is thank you for Elvin's in Kalihi! You will not be able to find another shop that has delectable pastries and serves up a great cup of espresso. Their espresso is so smooth that sweetener is not required. Their secret for a good cup of joe - Kona espresso beans. The shopping center doesn't look like much, but it's worth the stop over. This family owned business has created such a nice atmosphere within their little shop with the wood paneling.

Their coffee offerings are basic, with espresso, latte, mocha, teas and hot chocolate. The main reason to visit them other than the coffee are their pastries. My recommendation: blueberry cream cheese scone with a latte. If you're Kalihi on Dillingham Blvd., don't by pass them. Stop in for a danish, slice of Japanese cheesecake, mango mousse cake or a ham and cheese roll. Seating is limited to two tables outside - be ready to take it on the go.
