La Madeleine French Bakery, 3300 Severn Ave. (17th St.), New Orleans

Located in the Metarie neighborhood, this bakery cafe is great for a casual meal followed by a pastry and a coffee. The sandwhiches are tasty and the place is busy, but it's worth a visit. Try the Turkey Sandwich with Avocado, Swiss Cheese, and Mustard on one of their delicious breads.
